IT Employment Growth Rate Accelerates Modestly According to TechServe Alliance

As we near the end of the first quarter of the new year, IT industry employment reports are starting to be published. Alexandria, VA based TechServe Alliance, an association of IT and engineering staffing companies, released a report on March 15, 2017 detailing that the IT employment growth rate is accelerating modestly.

TechServe Alliance reported the number of IT jobs grew .3% last month (February 2017) to 5,272,700. When reviewed on a year-over-year basis, IT employment grew by 3.9% since February 2016 adding 196,200 IT jobs.

There is an array of IT and engineering jobs across almost all business segments. TechServe Alliance presents a graphical table in the report that breaks down the total number of jobs in certain sectors that provide a significant amount of employment to IT and engineering professionals. It is noted that a second source for the information presented is the Department of Labor/U.S. Bureau or Labor Statistics.
