Here’s a thrilling opportunity for a Lead UX Designer to head OpenArc client engagements using a human-centered design approach. You are involved in conversations with prospective clients to understand their needs and shape the appropriate human-centered design approach and methods for consulting engagements. You are responsible for facilitating workshops and discussions with client teams to understand their needs and align those with the value that OpenArc provides.

You can understand and synthesize information that crosses multiple business functions and work with technical architects to communicate user-centered needs and understand technical constraints that impact the user experience. You’ll work with teams to prioritize opportunities and generate ideas that create a shared view for a project team for use in validation sessions with the end-user.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Meet with clients to understand their need and shape a project approach that will deliver value
· Create design solutions that address consumer, business, brand and technology requirements
· Advocate for users by creating and sharing representations of their needs such as personas, mental models and user stories
· Conduct user research, user testing and discovery workshops with customers and synthesize learning and insights
· Plan and conduct group workshops that engage participants using human-centered design methods
· Present design solutions to client stakeholders, gather feedback and iteratively refine based on their input
· Capture and communicate the system of flows behaviors for a product to project team members
· Manage time and work effectively within constraints provided by the project manager
· Work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
· Adopt and adhere to OpenArc processes throughout the entire development life cycle
· Adhere to all internal and external security policies and government regulations

Qualifications

· BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Science or a related field
· Eight years of experience in prominent user experience and interaction design role – emphasis on software design consulting
· Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
· Ability to present design approaches to wide-ranging audiences (e.g., business, product management, and technology teams)
· Experience designing user interfaces considering technical constraints
· Knowledge of UX best practices and patterns for natural flows and interactions
· Knowledge of and experience using Human-Centered Design methods
· Experience using software to storyboard a sequence of screens that illustrate the flow of users’ interactions software
· Strong conceptual, verbal and visual communication skills
